Naxo Lara and Lourdes Rosales headlined a Featured Show bringing music, Spanish folklore, fashion and performance to the Main Stage at Sony Hall, New York.
NEW YORK, SEPTEMBER 14, 2026. More than 300 fashion and entertainment professionals gathered at Sony Hall for the closing gala and awards ceremony of New York Fashion Week 2026. Among nominees, honorees and invited artists, Rebel Strings closed the evening with a show built to be heard as much as seen.
Spanish Folklore, Contemporary Arrangements and Electric Violins
The show paid tribute to some of the most influential figures in Spanish musical culture, with references to Joaquín Rodrigo, Paco de Lucía and Lola Flores, among others. The duo reworked pieces rooted in Spanish folklore through contemporary arrangements and elements of electronic and modern music. The result moved from the elegance of a concert piece to the pulse of the dance floor, the territory the Rebel Strings electric violin duo works in.
A stage framed by red carnations and roses set the scene. The outfits, inspired by Córdoba’s folklore and designed by Spanish designer Pipi Alonso (@pipi.create), brought the “Made in Spain” concept into the wardrobe as well.
Onstage, and throughout the audience, Naxo and Lourdes combined virtuosic musicianship with direct interaction. Their signature red 3Dvarius electric violins and illuminated LedsBow bows added weight to a performance where the music and the design worked together.

“REBEL, Made in Spain” represents the evolution of the artistic vision behind Rebel Strings, a project founded by Naxo Lara and Lourdes Rosales that connects music, fashion, design and performance, and takes string instruments far beyond the traditional concert format.
Rebel Strings creates live music experiences for weddings, private celebrations, corporate events, fashion productions and other high-profile occasions. Their work combines acoustic and electric instruments, chamber formats, contemporary arrangements, performance and collaborations with DJs and other artists.

At Sony Hall, “REBEL, Made in Spain” brought that philosophy to the New York Fashion Week stage: a celebration of Spanish culture seen through a New York lens.
